Multi-award winning alternative artist Meg Pfeiffer returns with her seventh studio album Red Wine Philosophy, a collection of 16 tracks created with complete artistic independence. Released on her own Muca Label & Publishing and distributed globally through Virgin Music Group (Universal Music) in partnership with Mesa Bluemoon Recordings, the album presents her songwriting, production, mixing, and video direction in their purest form.
Pfeiffer once worked with Sony Music and Universal Music Publishing, but she chose the independent path to maintain full control of her craft. Her work has traveled to more than 25 countries, earned major recognitions such as the InterContinental Music Awards and the German Rock and Pop Awards, and reached more than 3 million streams along with over 200 million views across her video productions.
Red Wine Philosophy is shaped by personal honesty and musical depth. The album includes 16 lyric videos created by Pfeiffer and features contributions from her husband, Italian guitar virtuoso and inventor Luca Stricagnoli, who appears on several tracks. A standout fan favorite titled Solo Sipper reflects her upbringing in the former GDR, the loneliness of the music scene, and her opposition to rising authoritarian movements in the United States.
Pfeiffer is inspired by artists such as Alanis Morissette, Fiona Apple, Hans Zimmer, Sting, ELO, Michael Jackson, and Joni Mitchell. Her long journey began in Halle (Saale), where she studied classical guitar at eight years old, added piano and music theory shortly after, and wrote her first songs at eleven. After releasing her early independent album Man from the Woods, she eventually signed with major labels. She later chose independence again to protect her creative freedom. Since then, she has released the albums Bullrider, Sunshine, Nope, Unsent, Perspective, and now Red Wine Philosophy.
In 2022 Meg Pfeiffer and Luca Stricagnoli relocated from Stuttgart to Nashville. Both are voting members of the Recording Academy and continue to produce and perform around the world while advocating for better support for independent musicians.
Red Wine Philosophy is a statement of who Pfeiffer is as a creator. The music is raw, unfiltered, and authentic, shaped entirely by her own vision. It is a clear example of her belief in independent art and her dedication to making meaningful work that speaks for those who might not be heard.
