Stephanie Rodriguez Facades (Single Review)
Stephanie Rodriguez Facades (Single Review)

Today’s review features Facades the new single by Stephanie Rodriguez, which she composed and produced. Stephanie says this new single has “a blend of electronic ambience” paired with “Avant Garde Pop” blended with “haunting atmospheric sounds. Something out of the ordinary.” And Stephanie says this new single is part of “a new EP in the making.”

Based in London, UK, Stephanie’s new EP is titled Crazy Game. Stephanie is an “artist with her head & heart invested into every note & tone she sings.”

So let’s have a listen …

The song starts off with a world beat type instrument bed with Stephanie’s powerful vocals delivering a very simple straightforward slow groove melody. I keep waiting for the big chorus to kick in. We are at 1min30 … “Unlike wolves in a pack, are we made of facades” is supposedly the chorus hook, but really, there’s no big chorus, just an atmospheric electronica instrument bed with a fairly limited range vocal on top. Much like talking your way through a slow song, but only singing the lines in a somber, but not exciting, way. I kept waiting for the big chorus, but no.

That being said, the video Stephanie produced for the song is quite lovely. I recommend checking it out on YouTube.

As a radio DJ for commercial FM stations here in the States, I don’t really see this song getting a lot of airtime, even though it is pleasant enough to listen to, but it’s missing a big hook.

SCORE/Good: If you like atmospheric ambient folk pop music with vocals, this new single by Stephanie Rodriguez may be your ticket. The production of the song and performances are very nice. The video Stephanie produced for the song looks very chill, check it out! Much love, Beth
