Tom Nied Quarters of the world (Single Review)
Tom Nied Quarters of the world (Single Review)

Today’s review features a new single from Tom Nied, “Go For It” from his album “Quarters of the World.”

Tom Nied is a British rock musician who gained popularity in the alternative rock scene. His full name is Tomasz Niedzialkowski, and he’s a singer/songwriter exploring music from various genres including Alternative Rock, Indie, Folk and Jazz. He’s from Eastbourne, UK. His music invites listeners to contemplate their own life and discover the comforting power of music through a therapeutic journey.

According to Tom, “Go For It” is about difficult love, making choices, and the ways of relationships. Lovely, then, that Tom has included the lyrics:

When you listen you ask about future
and past for the sake of tomorrow
Sorrow often comes from in-compliance
only answer is alliance so come and join in

Preconceptions lead the way
no one looks to see these days
Preconceptions lead the way
We all look to judge in haste

Beauty promised happiness
but all I’ve got is an empty space
closed in open plan living
I am feeding my worries with threats
Regrets

I breathe the air and I run against in
I gather strength by losing it
waves keep running ashore in the rhythm I adore
and It drains my mind clear

Review To Earn

Its hard to take first step
that sets you on your way
but you got to go for it

So let’s have a listen ….

The song starts with programmed drums, a very interesting keyboard or guitar repetitive riff. The vocals drop in where expected. Then in the chorus, another rhythm guitar is added to fill out the sound. The playing is excellent.

I’m not sold on the voice; I think it could be mixed better. Also, I’m hearing that this song should be heavier – the rhythm guitars need more crunch, in a metal direction.

SCORE/Good: Tom Nied’s new single “Go For It” shows some promise. The performances are excellent. I think with the right mix, this could be better, so I’m giving it a Good because I think Tom is onto something here. Much love, Beth
